Post-Submission Devlog

So overall this was a great experience for making my first real game! It was a bit stressful as I wondered whether my game would turn out fine and if I could make it in time --thankfully I did--, although my game did come out with one big bug at the end, which I only noticed after submissions for the GMTK GameJam closed. The web version does not start. This came as a sort of shock to me as I did not believe as many players would download the game to rate it, which would probably mean I was already out of the running. Hopefully I am not, but either way I was able to achieve what I wanted to with this Jam -to create a game.

Day 1 was the most stressful as I was trying to work out the plan for the game. Coming up with an idea was the hardest part, but then making everything around it was no easy task either. I pushed forward and started making the game later that day. By the end of the day I had mainly finished the player.

Day 2 was pretty full, and I barely had time to do anything else. I finished up the player then got to start on the enemies. After finishing the enemies and the final boss, I did a bit of map design before calling it a day.

Day 3 I had wrapped up everything, finished map design and worked out some numbers and whatnot. I struggled most with uploading the project approximately 30 minutes before the deadline (as can be seen from the faulty webGL version), although I finally got it out, and even though it is not at ANY standard a good game, I recognize that it is my first ever game made with Unity (and I have only really made one before) and for that standard I also only had 2 days. So I did my best and this is what came out of it. At the end of the day I am happy just being able to make and submit the game.
